Kieran Tierney Injured
Arsenal defender ruled out of Scotland's Euro 2024 match against Hungary
Tierney was stretchered off during Scotland's match against Switzerland.
Scotland will be without Kieran Tierney for their must-win Euro 2024 clash with Hungary on Sunday. The Arsenal defender, who spent last season on loan at Real Sociedad, was stretchered off during Scotland's 2-1 defeat to Switzerland on Wednesday.
Tierney is expected to be out for several weeks with a knee injury, which is a major blow to Scotland's hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages of the tournament. The Scots need to beat Hungary in their final Group A match to have any chance of progressing.
Tierney's injury is the latest in a long line of setbacks for Scotland manager Steve Clarke. The Scots have already lost Scott McTominay and Ryan Fraser to injury, and John McGinn is a doubt for the Hungary game.
Despite the setbacks, Clarke remains confident that Scotland can qualify for the knockout stages. "We have a lot of quality in this squad," he said. "We just need to find a way to get it out on the pitch."
