'It was like a bomb went off'
A witness to the plane crash in Anderson, South Carolina, has spoken of the horrific moment the aircraft hit the ground.
"It was like a bomb went off," said the witness, who asked not to be named. "I was driving down the road when I saw the plane flying very low. It was on fire and then it just crashed into the ground."
'The plane was on fire'
The witness said the plane was on fire when it hit the ground and that there was a large explosion.
"The plane was on fire when it hit the ground," said the witness. "There was a large explosion and then a lot of black smoke. It was terrible."
The witness said they called 911 and then went to help the victims.
"I saw one person who was still alive," said the witness. "They were badly injured but they were still alive. I tried to help them but they died in my arms."
The witness said they were shocked by what they had seen.
"I've never seen anything like it," said the witness. "It was terrible."
The crash
The plane crash happened at around 12:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, August 13, 2023. The plane was a small passenger plane carrying eight people.
All eight people on board the plane were killed in the crash.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Witness accounts
Several witnesses to the crash have spoken to the media. One witness said they saw the plane flying very low before it crashed.
"I saw the plane flying very low," said the witness. "It was on fire and then it just crashed into the ground."
Another witness said they heard a loud explosion.
"I heard a loud explosion," said the witness. "I looked up and saw the plane on fire. It was terrible."

The victims of the crash have been identified. They are:

- Jane Doe, 42, of Anderson, South Carolina
- John Doe Jr., 16, of Anderson, South Carolina
- Jane Doe Jr., 14, of Anderson, South Carolina
- John Doe III, 12, of Anderson, South Carolina
- Jane Doe III, 10, of Anderson, South Carolina
- John Doe IV, 8, of Anderson, South Carolina
- Jane Doe IV, 6, of Anderson, South Carolina
The victims were all members of the same family.
The investigation
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the crash.
The NTSB is expected to release a preliminary report on the crash within the next few weeks.
